18th Annual Oceanside Days of Art

Full Description:

This year will be the 18th Annual Oceanside Days of Art, on April 17 & 18, 2010, from 10am to 5pm each day. There will be over 100 spaces of fine art booths, hourly performing artist acts from dancing to big bands to high school students performing their own music. This year we are highlighting Eileen Cary, award winning country/pop vocalist/singer-songwriter.  She has won Album of the Year at the 19th Annual Los Angeles Music Awards plus '2009 Song of the Year' at the 5th Annual South Bay Music Awards ceremonies. She will be perfoming each day on the Browman Stage on Ditmar Street.

Along with the many artists playing, perfoming and showing their art, there will be many fine food vendors tantalizing your taste buds throughout the streets of downtown Oceanside and around the fountain of the Civic Center on Coast Hwy.

The Hands on Art area will be an interesting place for all to try their hand at creating art for themselves to take home for both children and new this year, for adults!! Each person will have the opportunity to float a 'crane for peace' in the fountain at the Civic Center. There will be a table for you to try your hand at Ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arranging. The participants will be able to take home a creation of their own, also.

This year ODA will be presenting two special displays of art from our Seniors and Miltiary artists in the area. The Senior Art will be displayed in an Artist Alley gallery while the Military Art will be shown in the Community Rooms of the Library. This will be a wonderful chance to see the talents of our most prized citizens of Oceanside.
